What's Happening in Music?
Week of May 23rd:
Kindergarten: I can follow visual rhythm patterns. I can move and play instruments to a steady beat against a different rhythm or melody.
1st Grade: I can compose 4-beat rhythms using quarter and eighth notes and quarter rests.
2nd Grade: I can sight-read 3-note melodies within the pentatonic scale. I can play and read simple and compound rhythms.
3rd Grade: I can compose an ostinato to accompany a familiar melody. I can recognize major and minor melodies. I can perform canons in small groups.
4th Grade: I can read and play B, A, G, E, and D on the soprano recorder. I can identify notes on, above, and below the treble clef staff. I can sight-read and play short melodic ostinati on barred instruments.

4th Grade field trip to see the Cleveland Orchestra perform at Severance Music Center!
